Buy American? Maybe. Buy best of breed. If American, great.
– Me. Because for stimulus to be lasting, money and jobs needs to end up where we are our best. If some money goes oversees, fine. We are a connected world, and a healthy foreigner may just buy our exports, or come to the U.S. for vacation. Chill people. Consumers should do only what they know...

There is no end to how effed-up these executives are… they’ve been living up high in a douche-fruit tree for too long. Time to rattle that tree and let the rotten fruit rain down and splat under our feet.

Facebook | My Videos: The Epic Battle of puppy vs much larger puppy
Yes, it is time to embed a puppy video, largely because I just found out that Facebook is finally allowing users to embed videos in external sites. But also because I love these early days of Maddy’s puppydom so very, very much.

In fact, Streaming Netflix is nearly useless with its current Watch Instantly catalog. I frequently go there and realize the movie I really want to see is not available yet. Settling for something older in that moment is a compromise and completely damaging to the overall user experience. The result, I’ve watched only one movie in over 2 months of having access.

Scoble has been pushing his theories very proudly lately.
The community design approach will have major issues delivering breakthru game-changing devices. It might create products that the contributing community wants (if for irrational participatory loyalty reasons only), but design-by-committee tends to yield feature-creep and only incremental improvements. Big leaps in UI, design, features,...

John Roberts: All the best wishes Mr. President.
I had to laugh when John Roberts and Obama fumbled over the oath. Upon replay, it was clear Roberts botched it up, and Obama’s handling was remarkably cool.
Roberts (who also said “President ‘to’ the United States”) misplaced “faithfully” in the recital, and Barack, who no doubt knew the correct sequence by heart was caught off guard, and it stopped him...

THE FEELING THAT THINGS ARE INEVITABLY GOING TO GET WORSE
What would change everything is not even a thought. It’s more of a feeling.
Human development thus far has been fueled and guided by the feeling that things could be, and are probably going to be, better. The world was rich compared to its human population; there were new lands to conquer, new thoughts to nurture, and new...
